Is it deliberate that it’s a disaster? Or just inevitable, given the lack of fact based decision making at all levels? The article doesn’t say who is to blame for this intentional catastrophe, but I’ll grant you that those in charge are to praise or blame for the decisions they make.

I agree with the article, but I was hoping for more evidence of deliberate intent to harm, instead of the usual indecision, or giving “business as usual” a try. I believe some actors are deliberately trying to spread harm and chaos for personal gain, but it’s not clear in many cases if there is intent, or just incompetence.

I’m also aghast that there are so many institutions and administrations that aren’t acting with an overabundance of caution. For most students, even shutting down for another six months could be made up later. It would cost time and money, but not lives, damage to health, etc.
