    Thanks for a thought provoking article…as usual. Perhaps what you define as the algorithm is really incomplete without all of the data which, of course, includes the misogyny and racism that has been exposed. Once the complete program is run Fox wouldn’t hire those it did. Selling crack might be lucrative but without taking into account the risks involved it can hardly be seen as a profitable enterprise.

    Of course, it’s completely obvious that ML algorithms match what has happened, and not what we want to happen. But even in this case the robots might also hire more women who are likely to be sexually harassed. I’m not sure what features one would extract to determine that. But convolutional learning would be able to figure it out I feel sure.

      Hmmm I don’t think so, since even though they were hired at high rates, they weren’t allowed to succeed.
