    Trying to hold to my New Year’s resolution I won’t engage in the politics, but I have a grammar question.

    Is it really: “an artificial intelligence,” rather than an artificial intelligence [agent | actor | (some other noun)]?

    Has usage changed in the last few years?

      Surely “intelligence” by itself is a noun.

    Brilliant! Having “the equivalent of a dynamic neural network running our government” might itself also be a “sign of the times,” which your final sentence obliquely suggests.
