Which muppet are you?
March 20, 2012
I’m kind of into Greg Smith telling us that those guys at Goldman Sachs consider us all muppets, because the muppets fucking rock.
Depending on my mood, I’m either Miss Piggy or one of those guys in the balcony complaining about stuff.

The balcony guys are Statler and Waldorf. The Muppet Show was my favorite show as a kid. My favorite Muppet is Kermit.

Aha — now I see that you already have the names of the balcony guys when you scroll over the picture.

Gonzo, or Animal, depending on my mood.
(The Muppets do rock.)

Ah, but I thought that in UK English ” muppet” means something like “idiot”. So no muppet?

Maybe, but I’ve always thought they referred to the characters on the Muppet Show.

I think the UK use of muppet comes from a military acronym – ‘Most Useless / Pathetic Person Ever Trained’

I’m either Animal (the ADD artsy spazz) or Beaker (the reluctant, fearful scientist), depending on the moment you catch me. I recently was given a bright red shirt with a picture of Animal off the chain on it. I was shocked to find that most people don’t recognize him, and think it’s Elmo instead. Elmo wishes he were as badass as Animal.
